Verse
Working down at the Russian House
Down on 14th Street
Working down on 14th Street
Were the girls make you pay and pay
But Gypsy Rose will throw you down for free
Gypsy Rose will throw you down for free
Verse
Gypsy Rose went out last night
With a man that she met down on 14th Street
With a man that she met down on 14th Street
Who said, I'd like to take your picture
Won't you come and show yourself to me
Won't you come and show yourself to me
Verse
But I found her down in the corner
To weak and bruised to breath
To weak and bruised to breath
So I picked her up and she said,
I got to get off 14th Street
I got to get off 14th Street
Verse
So when you hear your fortune told
About the pain and the sorrow that your life will hold
About the pain and the sorrow that your life will hold
Well don't shed a single tear
My 14th Street Gypsy Russian Rose
My 14th Street Gypsy Russian Rose

Wonderful song and feeling to it... many thanks for the mystery and beauty in the delivery of this song. Although I do not understand the place or people involved it comes across so well and with a sense one need not know anymore.
